Let me give you an idea of Charlotte weather this month:
Today – high, 53
Yesterday – high, 81
Monday – high, 79
Two Mondays ago – high 29
MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MINDS, WEATHER GODS OF THE SOUTHEAST!
I love snow and I also love spring but I can’t handle the back-and-forth! My laundry pile has doubled because it’s halfway through winter clothes and halfway through spring clothes. I’m not shaving my legs in protest.
More lists?
Topics of poems I’ve drafted in the past month:
- Cathedrals
- Beluga Whales
- Ice
- Women of the Old Testament
- Bug Zappers
Also, I really wish Spring Break was a federally mandated paid-time-off week for every working American. But a floating break you could schedule yourself anytime between March and May so, you know, not everyone was flocking to the beach all at once. (or for me, preferrably, so I could go to SXSW.)

We’re having about the same weather in Atlanta. Two Sundays ago it was a blizzard, then this past Sunday it was nearly 80 degrees. Global warming.

Don’t miss that about NC. OR the TAXES. Then again, Nola is partly sunny and humid every dang day. Sometimes warm, sometimes hot. And you can always rely on hurricane season.

ugh, the weather is driving me nuts here!!! Plus, it’s rained straight for a week now and it’s doing a number on my depression. I’m praying for a nice spring this year and hope we don’t jump from winter directly into summer.

Collin, global warming – I agree!
Kelly – hi! yeah, I don’t envy your humidity, although it can get pretty bad up here, too. great for my cowlick, btw.
Rachel, AMEN. also, I heard you on a podcast last week! it was old, but i save a lot of archives. that was so cool/bizarro!
